Ask Michael, when it comes to picking materials, textiles, colors, or decor for our home I’m horribly indecisive. Maybe it’s because I consider every piece an investment or I remember the early home purchases I regret, everything must be researched, reviewed and inspected. To fight my overly critical urges, I thought a one-hour design board challenge might help me feel confident in my gut instincts.
The Design Hustle Rules
- I must pick one “inspiration” piece to design around
- I have one hour to pick all of the design’s supporting players
- No edits after one hour; it is, what it is
In support of the rules I timed my first hustle (55 minutes to complete the vision board), and went back to source all of the products later. For the first board I chose a Wayfair sale item (the kitchen backsplash #1) as a basis for the design. I wouldn’t call this board “our style,” but it was liberating to go with my gut when choosing all of these lovely things. Enjoy y’all!
